Veeam Backup & Replication

Server virtualization has been a compelling event for organizations of all sizes to rethink their data protection and disaster recovery (DR) strategies. Many companies have realized that having a server backup and disaster recovery plan built specifically for virtual environments is essential. Veeam Backup & Replication provides fast, flexible and reliable recovery of virtualized applications and data. It unifies backup and replication in a single solution, increases the value of backup and reinvents data protection for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environments.

Veeam Backup & Replication protects your investment in virtualization by helping to maintain business continuity and provide you the tools needed to remain flexible and agile so you can meet the ever-changing needs of the organization.

Veeam Backup & Replication is much simpler and less expensive to maintain and license than legacy backup tools. It's licensed per CPU socket and includes backup, replication, de-duplication, multi-hypervisor support and centralized management in one cohesive solution. Veeam Backup & Replication provides the most comprehensive protection of your virtual infrastructure at a fraction of the price of other solutions.

Are you spending too much time on backups? Are your backups taking too long? Unlike traditional file-based backups, Veeam Backup & Replication provides image-based backups that allow for quick recovery of an entire VM, file or application item. Now you can backup as frequently as you need to, what you need to, and still easily meet your recovery point objectives (RPOs).

Whether you are using VMware or Hyper-V ? we?ve got you covered!

Reporter

Veeam Reporter

Veeam Reporter discovers, documents and analyzes your entire virtual infrastructure. It maintains a complete history of all objects, settings and changes. And it trends performance and forecasts utilization. So you can really understand your virtual infrastructure?past, present and future. When it comes to documenting and reporting on your virtual infrastructure, Reporter does it all. In particular, Reporter addresses these key virtualization management challenges:

*  Enterprise reporting

*  Change management

*  Capacity planning

What is the workload across your entire virtual infrastructure? Are you under or over when it comes to resource utilization? Are you at risk of over-provisioning your datastores? Reporter answers these critical questions. It provides trend analysis so you can see average load, peaks and bottlenecks. It keeps you informed about storage provisioning. It identifies spare resources and helps you optimize VM placement and maximize consolidation ratios.

Reporter helps you take the guesswork out of capacity planning by forecasting when CPU, memory and storage utilization will reach your defined thresholds. Armed with knowledge of your virtual environment?s configuration and its past and current utilization, Reporter makes recommendations for resource allocations and acquisitions. You can even perform "what-if" analyses to evaluate the impact of adding or removing hosts and VMs. When new hardware purchases are necessary, Reporter provides the recommendations, justification and confidence you need to go to management for funding.

Monitor

Veeam Monitor

With more than 35,000 installations worldwide, Veeam Monitor? is the industry-standard for VMware monitoring. It provides a comprehensive, performance-oriented view of your entire virtual infrastructure that complements vCenter Server's administrative console. Unlike some VMware monitors, Veeam Monitor doesn?t introduce its own monitoring framework, so it?s easy to deploy and maintain.

Veeam Monitor leverages Veeam Business View? to enable performance monitoring, alerting and reporting for virtual machine groups based on criteria such as business unit, department, location, purpose, service-level agreement or any other criteria you define. This ability to perform business-centric monitoring helps to identify the business impact of a virtual infrastructure?s performance and respond accordingly. It also allows you to create flexible alerts based on known server type characteristics and the potential business impact of an outage for more granular service-level management. You can also create targeted reports showing only the data relevant to specific business units, departments or types of server.

Business View

Veeam Business View

Veeam Business View is an add-on that works with other Veeam products to provide business categorization for your VMware vSphere environment. Business View allows you to group, view and manage clusters, hosts, virtual machines (VMs) and datastores based on criteria such as business unit, department, location, purpose, SLA etc., instead of their VMware infrastructure location.

VMware vCenter provides only an administrative (technical) view of the VMware infrastructure, showing VMs grouped by datacenters, clusters, or ESX and ESXi hosts. You can use VM folders to manually group VMs based on business criteria, but maintaining these folders requires daily error-prone manual procedures, and they are limited to only one categorization dimension.

Veeam Business View offers an automated, flexible and dynamic way to group your virtualization objects within different categories: business unit, department, purpose and others. Thus, with Business View, you can see and manage your virtual infrastructure based on business needs and priorities. You have the flexibility to set these groups of objects with these categories according to your specific requirements.

Business View uses VMware?s native custom attributes to categorize objects. Business View allows editing the attributes manually for one or multiple VMs at a time, or automatically based on pre-defined rules. For example, you can define an automated rule as ?if a VM has retail in its name, add it to the Retail Banking category.?

Veeam Business View provides import and export interfaces that allow you to synchronize categorization data with CMDBs and other third-party applications, such as Active Directory. Data integration can even be performed automatically, freeing you from the manual effort of keeping all the views of your virtual infrastructure in sync.

FastSCP

Veeam FastSCP

Veeam FastSCP can copy files over 6 times faster than WinSCP and other SCP-based tools as it uses full network capacity. The Veeam FastSCP engine also features traffic compression and empty block removal for best file copy performance.

Veeam FastSCP uses SSH as a control channel to generate a one-time username and password for each file transfer session. Veeam FastSCP does not require putting ESXi into ?unsupported? mode or compromise its security by enabling additional services.

eeam FastSCP has a Windows Explorer-like user interface familiar to any Windows user. Just run it on your Windows machine and start copying ? it doesn?t require any additional ESX or ESXi reconfiguration. FastSCP provides a fast, secure and easy way to manage files and bulk copy VMs across your VMware ESX environment.

Veeam FastSCP is the de facto standard for ESX file management, now with support for ESXi. FastSCP allows users to copy files from ESX to Windows, Windows to ESX, or directly ESX to ESX. FastSCP is the simplest and fastest way to move VMs and templates between datastores or to deliver ISO files to ESX Servers.
