Deliver quick ROI on virtual desktops (VDI) and get the immediate benefits of centralized management, better user experience, and improved security with Kaviza's VDI-in-a-boxTM.

Unlike traditional VDI solutions that are built on server virtualization and require heavy infrastructure investments, Kaviza is designed from the ground up specifically for desktop management, with your desktop budget in mind.

Kaviza's VDI-in-a-box TM is a turnkey solution that delivers virtual desktops out of the box. Kaviza is affordable, quick to install, easy to administer, highly scalable, hypervisor agnostic and delivers quick ROI. The total cost to deploy a virtual desktop using Kaviza (including our software, thin clients, server hardware, storage and OS, hypervisor licenses) is less than the cost of a PC.

Kaviza's solution automates provisioning, patching and management of virtual desktops, provides automatic recovery on failure with built-in high-availability, and automatically load balances virtual desktop workloads as you add or remove servers and/or users. For an overview of Kaviza's unique next-generation desktop architecture and how it differs from traditional VDI approaches.

Kaviza runs as a virtual appliance on industry standard hypervisors such as ESX running on servers with direct attached storage (DAS). No expensive shared storage, or myriad of server virtualization components are needed, cutting down cost and complexity.

Deploying Kaviza is simple. A desktop PC administrator can get production-ready virtual desktops up in three easy steps. There is nothing to build, and little virtualization expertise is needed. With Kaviza, you simply deal with desktops, and user sessions, not with virtual machines or resource pools, etc.

Kaviza's key features

Superior User Experience

Pristine desktops. Each user gets a personalized, virus-free desktop created on demand each time they login.
Instant access. Users see login times of just a few seconds.
“Follow me” feature. A user can access the same desktop session from different locations.
No user maintenance. Users no longer have to wait and watch as their PC is patched and updated. With Kaviza, this happens behind the scenes through templates.

Horizontal Scalability

Kaviza is a horizontally scalable VDI solution using inexpensive commodity hardware. We accomplish this through our patent-pending desktop specific architecture designed for scale-out, similar to modern Web architectures like Google.

Easy administration

Kaviza's lingua franca is desktops and users. As an administrator, you don't have to worry about virtual machines, or resource pools, etc. Kaviza enables desktop administrators to focus on what they care most about – their users getting the best desktop experience tailored to their needs.
Templates. Administrators can setup different templates for the various groups of users in their organization. User desktops are generated from templates and fully managed via the templates.
Storage optimization. Saves storage by generating multiple virtual desktops from a single template.
Automated resource allocation. There is no need to estimate and pre-allocate pools of servers for the various types of desktops. Resources are allocated dynamically making it easy to scale the infrastructure on demand.
Single management pane. Since Kaviza's solution is one integral product and not a collection of multiple products, there is one management pane to administer all aspects of desktop operations.
Hot-pluggable. Kaviza offers built-in high availability. As you add new servers, Kaviza's kMGR automatically balances and replicates the workload to accommodate for failures. If a server goes down in production, Kaviza automatically detects this and automatically migrates the workload to other servers as the users log back in.
Flexible deployment. With Kaviza, you have a choice of distributing the servers across branch and remote offices and still managing them centrally from headquarters for performance reasons. In places where WAN performance can be spotty, this offers better end-user experience because users access their desktops via a fast local LAN.
